Jobber vs Housecall Pro: what our seven-user HVAC tests found
Short answer: There is no blanket winner. Jobber produced the stronger safe draft-invoice result and the accurate later AI result. Housecall Pro produced the more direct estimate-costing and cost-transfer workflow. Both silently allowed the controlled same-worker overlap.

Like-for-like core workflow: Jobber Grow was $399/month with no commitment and 10 users included. Housecall Pro HVAC Essentials Team was $299/month for five users plus two × $100, or a Calculated $499/month for seven. On that dated monthly basis, Housecall Pro is $100/month higher.

Which is the better fit?
Choose Jobber first when a persistent unsent invoice, clear client/property flow, and the tested Grow feature set matter more than direct estimate-level costing.
Choose Housecall Pro first when direct estimate costs, service-plan structure, and HVAC package features matter more than the exact draft-invoice behavior observed here.
Choose neither solely from this page if restricted-technician access, notification behavior, or payment processing is decisive. Those workflows were not safely tested.
Evidence limits
These were trial-account observations with fictional data. The products were not tested with seven invited users, real customer communications, or payments. AI results reflect specific dated account states. Prices are vendor-stated, date-sensitive, and may change.
